What is Kando Trip 2.0?

The most inspiring and fulfilling creative experience this year.

Kando is Sony’s core philosophy, which roughly translates into the power of emotional connection and serves as the foundation for Kando Trip, a unique experience for content creators. Set at Asilomar in Monterey, California, the Kando Trip experience will stretch your creative boundaries. Under the guidance of leading photographers, filmmakers, educators, and social experts, you’ll explore new ways to create, share, and build your brand. You’ll be in the company of like-minded creatives and leading representatives of one of the best brands in the world, with food, tech, and cheer galore.

Matt Canelli told the crowd, "You are not here by accident. Each one of us looked at every application, every essay and chose each of you from a pool of over 600 applicants to 150 finalists...":

Right off the bus we were greeted by this amazing guitarist/vocalist~

Scott Robert Lim showed us that using a flash with a gel set in a laundry basket, a small video light and even smaller reflector, we could create this.

Kyle Ford, possibly the coolest guy I met all week.

Alone in the chapel.

I like a woman with a big hat.

Those eyes...

Security cop at the rental center. Everyone was a potential subject...

Avoiding splinters for art's sake.

Melissa the surfer girl.

California Dreamin'

I think he was ditching high school for this event...

Surfer dudes.

And yes, Kando provided a surfing dog for us to photograph. It's all part of the show, folks...

Asilomar was a great location for the event. This is the path to the main hall where there were instructors, vendors, and most importantly, free gear loaners from Sony!

At the end of the day, they trucked in pounds of marshmallows, graham crackers and Hershey's bars for S'mores. Until next year~
